For the 12 days a year you can do this all outside here...
Rope traverse, barbell work, pullup bar (on the treehouse) , climbing wall. All accumulated slowly over the past 15 years and repurposed as the kids have grown.

Hey cool, did you build that rock wall? I’m designing one for our back yard as my daughter climbs the shit out of everything.

Yep, about 14 years ago in a basement, which is why it’s only 8' x 8' (also easier carpentry!). Took it all apart, stored it for years, then rebuilt it at the new house and painted it with deck restorer (which has a gritty finish).
Deceptive, but it weighs about 500# with all the holds and everything. It was designed to be adjustable for an overhang, but the current framing won’t allow that. You can easily do a vertical kids’ wall with 2x4 studs instead of 2x6 pressure treated like I did.

Cool! You buy, or make the holds?

Mostly bought — found a bunch on clearance, so they’re mostly “professional grade” Metolius holds. There’s so much available, it’s not really worth it to make them.
But I did make about 10 as prototypes...they’re essentially mortar, just cement plus sad. But you can mold them how you want and they feel closer to rock than any kind of plastic. I wouldn’t recommend it, but it was a fun little DIY project. I made silicone molds for them and everything, but only made one of each.
FWIW, that wall is cut into 2' wide strips so I could fit them in a sedan. They also allow for expansion/contraction in the plywood since it’s outdoors. I’m amazed how well the plywood has held up outdoors.

Thanks for reminding me that I emailed Stone Summit about reopening and got nothing back.
Cool setup, though!
